Prof. Dan Yamin (Ph.D.) is a faculty member at the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tel Aviv University, the head of the Laboratory for Epidemic Modeling and Analysis (LEMA), and a former faculty in the school of public health at Yale University. His research focuses on infectious diseases, where he seeks to inform and provide tools for public health decision-makers using complex systems and data-driven models. Prof. Yamin received four research prizes awards and six teaching prizes awards. Prof. Yamin’s studies contributed to the impact of health policy against influenza in Israel and offered novel strategies to eliminate Ebola that were implemented in Liberia. He received a European Research Council (ERC) grant to pursue research on the early detection of infectious diseases using smartwatches. He previously advised the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance to identify hotspots and apply effective strategies against the COVID-19 Pandemic in Israel. 

Noam Levi is a Ph.D. student in Theoretical Particle Physics at Tel Aviv University. His academic research focuses on the theoretical understanding of the fundamental constituents of the universe as well as the theoretical and algorithmic foundations of deep learning. Noam earned a B.Sc. in electrical engineering and a B.Sc. in physics at Tel Aviv University, as well as an M.Sc. (magna cum laude) in theoretical particle physics, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Tomer Volansky. During his Ph.D., he spent two years conducting research at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. Noam is an inaugural Milner foundation fellow, awarded the “70 for 70” Ph.D. scholarship. 

I research the application of advanced learning techniques on  problems from biological domains. Once the recent state of the art reinforcement learning algorithms were developed, my interest in the field grew and became my main research interest. As part of Prof. Tal Pupkos group and together with Dana Azouri from Itay Mayrose's group and Oz Granot from Ishay Mansour's group I've been working on modeling various biological problems as games and training agents to solve them.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics from Tel Aviv University and am about to finish my Master's in the same field.
 

Chen Shani is a Ph.D. student at the Hebrew university of Jerusalem, working with prof. Dafna Shahaf. Her prior education is in the fields of psychology and computational brain science.
She is interested in integrating insights from cognition to AI, and vice versa.
She worked on computational humor at Amazon Alexa for over three years. Nowadays she is working as an NLP consultant for startups.

Yoav’s mission and passion is ‘Bringing R&D to life’ – maturing ideas from basic research to final products people love. He currently promotes this as GM - Industry & International Research Collaborations at TAD (Tel Aviv University’s AI/DS Research Center). Within this capacity, Yoav has helped shape TAD strategically and developed a new framework for Academia & Industry collaboration via TAD, called ‘Research Partner’.

In addition, Yoav is acting as Israel’s head of delegation and expert to the AI international Standardization committee (ISO&IECs - SC42) since 2018. Within this capacity Yoav also promotes awareness to Societal & Ethical concerns emanating from the development and deployment of AI technologies.

Yoav is a former Teaching-Fellow re Data & Business Strategy at Coller school of Management, Tel-Aviv University and regularly advises Industry as per Research, Product, Standardization and Regulation of AI.

Prof. Ran Balicer is a physician, scientist and executive, Chief Innovation Officer for Clalit - Israel's largest healthcare organization that covers over half of Israel’s population. He also serves as Founding Director of the Clalit Research Institute, the WHO Collaborating Center on Non-Communicable Diseases Research, Prevention and Control. In these roles, he is responsible for strategy, planning, development and practice implementation of novel data-driven interventions at scale. Prof Balicer is Full Professor and Track Director of the MPH program at the Ben-Gurion University School of Public Health, and heads Israel’s first and only Public Health/Data Sciences combined physician residency program, at Clalit. In these capacities, he has served as mentor for Medical Doctors and advanced studies students over the years. He has authored over 250 scientific publications, books and book chapters. He serves as Chair of the Israeli Society for Quality in Healthcare in the past decade, and as member of multiple national and international high level committees. He serves as an Advisor to Governments and international public organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), where he is involved in projects focusing on utilizing data science and AI in achieving effective healthcare provision and care integration. Since 2020, Prof. Balicer serves as Chairman of Israel's National Experts Team on COVID-19 Response, which advises the Israeli Government and Prime Minister. He has led globally recognized groundbreaking real-world studies on COVID-19 risk stratification, mitigation strategies, vaccine effectiveness and safety.

Hagit Messer (Life Fellow, IEEE) received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Tel Aviv University (TAU), Israel. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University, USA, and then joined the Faculty of Engineering at TAU, in 1986, where she is currently the Kranzberg Chair Professor of signal processing with the School of Electrical Engineering. During her career, she has held several positions, including the Chief Scientist at the Ministry of Science, Israel; the Head of the Porter School of Environmental Studies and then the Vice President for Research and Development at TAU; the President of the Open University; and the Vice Chair of the Council of Higher Education, Israel. She has also Co-Founded ClimaCell, USA, and was its Chief Scientist, until 2017. Since 2005, she has been leading a pioneering multidisciplinary research group on wireless communication for opportunistic environmental monitoring.

Ido Greenberg is a machine learning researcher who focuses on fundamental understanding of AI algorithms and their applications. In addition to his experience as a machine learning consultant, he developed reinforcement learning chatbots at Google, robust meta learning systems at Nvidia, and trading algorithms at Istra Research. Ido completed his BSc in mathematics and physics in Talpiot Program at the Hebrew University. In his MSc in applied mathematics at Tel Aviv University, he studied algorithms for molecules reconstruction. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Electrical Engineering at the Technion.

Oren is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Prof. Eran Halperin’s lab at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Oren develops practical AI applications for the healthcare domain, including deep-learning methods for electronic medical records and biomedical imaging data. Oren did his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics under the supervision of Prof. Tal Pupko at the Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research at Tel Aviv University. Prior to that, he received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. (both cum laude) in Computer Sciences with a specialization in Bioinformatics at Tel Aviv University. 

Mois Navon is one of the founding engineers of Mobileye, where he designed the EyeQ family of SoC (System On a Chip) - the chip powering the autonomous vehicle revolution.  Mois is also an ordained rabbi who has published numerous articles on Jewish law and lore.  Working at the intersection of Torah U’Madda, he is currently pursuing his PhD at the department of Jewish Philosophy at Bar Ilan University where his thesis seeks to apply Jewish philosophy to address the ethical questions arising in the field of artificial intelligence.  In this vein, he teaches a course on “Ethics in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence” at Ben Gurion University and Yeshiva University.  

Dr. Ora Fandina is a Research Fellow at the ML & Algo group in the CS Department of Aarhus University in Denmark. Her research interests include unsupervised learning, clustering, optimization, and approximation theory. A primary focus of Ora's research is developing accurate, efficient, and practical methods for dimensionality reduction, as well as exploring their computational limits. She received her Ph.D. from the CS department at Hebrew University in 2020, and her MSc and BSc from the CS department at Ben-Gurion Univerisy in 2013 and 2010 respectively. In addition to research, Ora is dedicated to teaching, mentoring, and  encouraging young women to study math and science.

Dr. Nitzan Shahar is the head of the Clinical Computational Psychology Lab at Sagol School of Neuroscience and School of Psychology, Tel-Aviv university. His work is aimed at using computational modeling to describe latent cognitive processes underlying attention-deficits/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), in children and adults. Specifically, his studies uses mostly theoretical modeling including evidence accumulation and reinforcement-learning in humans. He completed three years of post-doctoral studies at the UCL computational psychiatry center in London. Finally, Dr. Shahar is also a practicing clinical psychologist and holds a one-day clinic, aimed at helping children and young adults with ADHD/OCD. 

Co-Founder and CTO of Indolex, a medical AI company that focuses on AI using continuous monitoring of patient data. Eddie Aronovich has over 20 years of experience as a technology leader. Previous to Indolex, Eddie established the data science activity at Ultra-Cruize, a GM autonomous driving project, and led the Tel-Aviv University, Computer Science Lab. He earned his MSc and B.Sc. in statistics and operation research from         Tel Aviv University. He served as a board member in various professional organizations: ISA, AEAI, ISOC-IL, and Derech ha-Yeled Montessori school.
