Isaac Ben-Israel was born in Israel (Tel-Aviv), 1949. He studied Mathematics, Physics and Philosophy at Tel-Aviv University, receiving his Ph.D. in 1988. He joined the Israel Air Force (IAF) after graduating high school (1967) and has served continuously up to his retirement (2002). During his service, Isaac Ben-Israel has held several posts in operations, intelligence and weapon development units of the IAF. He headed the IAF Operations Research Branch, Analysis and Assessment Division of IAF Intelligence, and was the Head of Military R&D in Israel Defence Forces and Ministry of Defence (1991-1997). In January 1998 he was promoted to Major General and appointed as Director of Defence R&D Directorate in IMOD. During his service he received twice the Israeli Defence Award.

After retirement from the IDF Isaac Ben Israel joined the University of Tel-Aviv as a professor and was the head of Curiel Centre for International Studies (2002-2004), the head of the Program for Security Studies (2004-2007), Executive Director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Technological Analysis & Forecasting at Tel-Aviv University (ICTAF) (2010-2013), Deputy Director of the Hartog School of Government and Policy in Tel-Aviv University (2005-2015) and a member of Jaffe Centre for Strategic Studies (2002-2004). In 2002 he founded and headed the Yuval Ne’eman Workshop for Science, Technology and Security. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Ariel University Centre (2009-2011), and a member of the advisory council of Neaman Institute for Advanced Studies in Science and Technology at the Technion (2000-2010). In 2002 he founded RAY-TOP (Technology Opportunities) Ltd, consulting governments and industries in technological and strategic issues.

Professor Ben-Israel was a member of the 17th Knesset (Israeli Parliament) between June 2007 and February 2009. During this period he was a member of the Security and Foreign Affairs Committee, the Finance Committee, the Science & Technology committee, the Chairman of the Homeland Security Sub Committee and the Chairman of the Israeli–Indian Parliamentary Friendship Association.

In 2011 he was appointed by the Prime Minister to lead a task force that formulated Israel national cyber policy. Following that he founded the National Cyber Headquarters in the PM Office. In 2014 he was appointed again by the PM to lead another task force which resulted in a government decision (February 2015) to set up a new National Cyber Authority. Isaac Ben Israel was a member of the board of directors of IAI (2000-2002), the board of the Israel Corp. (2004-2007) and the R&D advisory board of TEVA (2003-2007) and Chairman of the Technion Entrepreneurial Incubator (2007). He was the Chairman of Israel National R&D council between 2010-2016.

Professor Ben-Israel has written numerous papers on military and security issues. His book Dialogues on Science and Military Intelligence (1989) won the Itzhak-Sade Award for Military Literature. His book on The Philosophy of Military Intelligence had been published by the Broadcast University (1999) and has been translated into French (2004). His book Science, Technology and Security: From Soldiers in Combat up to Outer Space, was published in 2006. His book on Israel Defence Doctrine was published in 2013.
Isaac is married to Inbal (née Marcus) and they have three sons: Yuval (1981), Roy (1984) and Alon (1988).

Dror Bin is the CEO of the Israel Innovation Authority, an independent public entity that operates for the benefit of the Israeli innovation ecosystem and Israeli economy as a whole. Its role is to nurture and develop Israeli innovation resources, while creating and strengthening the infrastructure and framework needed to support the entire knowledge industry.

Prior to his role at the Authority, Dror served as President and CEO of RAD Data Communications, a leading global telecom network solutions company with hundreds of employees at the company's headquarters in Tel Aviv, a manufacturing center in Jerusalem and development center in Beer Sheva as well as dozens of corporate branches around the world.

Dror also served in a series of positions for close to a decade at Comverse Technology, the last one as a member of the management team and VP of Global Sales. Following this, Dror served as a venture partner at Carmel Ventures and a chairman at several of its portfolio companies. In addition, Dror served as a partner at Shaldor, a leading management consulting firm in Israel, where he led the development and implementation of business and marketing strategies for major organizations in the financial, consumer, retail, high-tech, banking and other industries. 

Dror holds two bachelor’s degrees from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology: one in systems information engineering and the other in industrial management, as well as an MBA from Tel Aviv University.

Carme Artigas is a Spaniard Executive and Entrepreneur as well as a recognized Expert in Big Data, Artificial
Intelligence and Technology Innovation. In 2006, she co-founded and was the CEO of Synergic Partners, a
pioneer European Big Data company, which in 2015 was recognized as one of the top 15 leading companies in
Big Data at the international level by the analyst firm 451 Research.
As Founder&CEO of Synergic Partners, Artigas created and led a team of 150 data scientists, with operations
in more than 15 countries. From his company she launched the Synergic Academy division to help develop new
profiles and digital talent both within the Telefónica group and for customers. Also, since 2016 she launched the
initiative Data Science Awards Spain to recognize the best analytical talent in Spain.
In 2016, Carme was recognized by the American business magazine Insight Success as the one among the 30
most influential executives with an international projection. Likewise, the publishing house specialized in
technology O'Reilly Media places her among the top women in the world in the data business (Women in Data
2015). In Spain she has appeared in several rankings among the Top 25 Women in Technology in Spain.
In addition to her work as an executive, Carme is a member of the Data Innovation Network and a member of
the Industry Partners´ Council of the Data Science Institute of Columbia University in New York since 2013.
The company was acquired by the Telefónica group in November 2015 to accelerate the adoption of Big Data
internally and expand the company internationally. Carme continued serving as company CEO until the
company's full integration into the Telefónica Group at the end of 2018.
As of January 2019, she provided high-level strategic advice and served as Board Advisor in several
international companies and institutions, contributing with her knowledge on issues related to digital
transformation, artificial intelligence, big data, robotization, cultural change, industry 4.0, etc. She was

She has also was appointed by the University of Stanford (California) as Ambassador in Madrid of the
Conference "Women in Data Science (WIDS)", which organized for 3 years with the aim of making women
visible in the STEM field. She is also a member of the Board of Directors in the Spanish Executives Association

In January 2020 she was approved as Board Member in two IBEX35 listed Spanish companies, but she
resigned to accept the appointment as the first Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial
Intelligence in the Government of Spain.
In her current role she is responsible for designing and implementing the Spain’s Digital Agenda, in particular
the National Strategy on Artificial Intelligence, the Modernization Plan for e-government, the National Plan for
Cybersecurity, the Digitalization Plan for SMBs, the National Plan for Digital Skills, the Data Economy Strategy,

Carme began his professional career in 1992 at Procter & Gamble where he spent 5 years occupying different
management positions in areas from production to logistics and marketing. Subsequently, she was the Director
of Barcelona City Council Business Incubators, where she pioneered in 1995 the support to start-up
technology-based companies and in the development of new internet-based business models.
Carme is a MSc in Chemical Engineer from IQS, (Instituto Químico de Sarriá) completing her thesis at the Max
Plank Institute in Germany as a researcher on "Photodynamic Therapy of Cancer." Postgraduate in Industrial
Business Management from IQS, MSc in Chemical Sciences from Ramón Llull University . She also owns a
Executive degree on Venture Capital from Berkeley University-Haas School in California.
Within her associative activity, she is a member in the Spanish chapter of the International Women Forum

Dr. Daniel Gold (Brigadier General, Retired) is Head of Israel’s Defense Research and Development Directorate (DDR&D- MAFAT) at Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) and Israel Defense Forces (IDF) since July 2016. 
Dr. Gold is responsible for the definition of the defense research and development policy for Israel, including monitoring its implementation. He is in charge of all R&D, technology infrastructure, full-scale development, capabilities development, including special directorates (Space, UAVs, Missiles & Rockets Defense, Robotics & Autonomous Systems, AI/Cyber/Digital and Dual Use Technologies).
Dr. Gold holds two PhDs which he unprecedentedly completed concurrently within a period of two years: 
a PhD in Electronic Engineering and a PhD in Business Management, both from Tel-Aviv University. He has held several positions within IMOD and the Israel Air Force, including management of IMOD and IDF key projects such as Head of IMOD/IDF R&D Unit, Head of the main UAV/Drones projects, Head of Electronics & Electronic Warfare and Head of Armament & Avionics Divisions.
Dr. Gold also founded the “Gold R&D Technology and Innovation Ltd.” company which offers consultancy and business-technology ventures and development. Moreover, Dr. Gold was Head of the Israel National Committee for Commercial/Civilian Cyber R&D and is a member of the board of the Israel Brain Technology Organization. 
In 2012 Dr. Gold was awarded the prestigious National Defense Prize for his initiation and management of the “Iron Dome” missiles & rockets defense system, which made its first operational interception just 3 years after program launch. Under his leadership, the R&D Unit has been awarded the National Defense Prize 14 times.
He is a four-time recipient of the Israel Air Force Prize, a recipient of the Singapore Defence Technology Distinguished Fellowship Award and in 2012 was selected “Man of the Year” by Forbes Magazine-Israel.
Dr. Gold was honored to light the torch during the opening ceremony of Israel’s Independence Day in 2015.
In a national competition on the occasion of Israel’s 70th Anniversary, held by the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the Iron Dome system implemented by Dr. Gold was selected as “The Most Innovative Israeli Technology” of all times since the establishment of the State of Israel.
The most recent achievement was the initiation of Israel’s “National Technology Center for the Combat against the Corona Epidemic”. Under Dr. Gold’s leadership, this center and the various ventures coordinated at a national level, combined the defense R&D, academy, industry, start-ups and medical communities to focus the efforts which made a significant contribution to Israel’s success in supporting the medical staff while limiting the extent and severity of the epidemic, enabling the gradual return to routine which is currently under way.
In addition, Dr. Gold have initiated and implemented dual–use technologies framework and projects, thus leveraging innovation,resources, time to implementation and business aspects of commercial & defense technologies, with start-ups, private/ public venture capitals, government owned & commercial companies.
 

Margaret L. Brandeau is Coleman F. Fung Professor of Engineering and Professor of Health Policy (by Courtesy) at Stanford University. Her research focuses on the development of applied mathematical and economic models to support health policy decisions. Her recent work has examined HIV and drug abuse prevention and treatment programs, programs to control the opioid epidemic, and COVID-19 response strategies. She is an INFORMS Fellow. From INFORMS, she has received the Philip McCord Morse Lectureship Award, the President’s Award, the Pierskalla Prize (twice), and the Award for the Advancement of Women in Operations Research and the Management Sciences. At Stanford she has received the Eugene L. Grant Faculty Teaching Award from the School of Engineering and the Graduate Teaching Award from the Department of Management Science and Engineering. Professor Brandeau earned a BS in Mathematics and an MS in Operations Research from MIT, and a PhD in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford.

Zachary Chase Lipton is an Assistant Professor of Machine Learning and Operations Research at Carnegie Mellon University and a Visiting Scientist at Amazon AI. He directs the Approximately Correct Machine Intelligence (ACMI) lab, whose research focuses including the theoretical and engineering foundations of robust and adaptive machine learning algorithms, applications to both prediction and decision-making problems in clinical medicine, natural language processing, and the impact of machine learning systems on society. A key theme in his current work is to take advantage of causal structure underlying the observed data while dealing with the messy high-dimensional data that typifies deep learning settings. He is the founder of the Approximately Correct blog (approximatelycorrect.com) and a co-author of Dive Into Deep Learning, an interactive open-source book drafted entirely through Jupyter notebooks. Anjali Joshi serves as a board member of Lattice Semiconductor, a provider of low power FPGA products, and Alteryx, a provider of automated analytics solutions. She is also an Executive in Residence at INSEAD in France. Until March 2019, Anjali was Vice President of Product Management at Google, where she led the product teams for Search, Maps, Translate, News, Finance, and Global Infrastructure. Prior to Google, Anjali was executive vice president of engineering for Covad Communications, Inc., a company providing voice and data communications products and services to consumers and businesses. Before that, she held positions at AT&T Bell Labs, working in the areas of communications and high-speed data. She received her Master’s degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the State University of New York, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Kanpur. She also completed the Executive Education Program in Medicine at Harvard University. In 2017, she was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from IIT, Kanpur She has served in advisory roles to many start-ups, contributed to the National Academy of Science committee on Public Health, and served on the visiting committee for the Management Science & Engineering department at Stanford University.

Yoav is the research director of AI2 Israel, and also an associate professor of computer science at Bar Ilan University. His research interests include language understanding technologies with real world applications, combining symbolic and neural representations, uncovering latent information in text, syntactic and semantic processing, and interpretability and foundational understanding of deep learning models for text and sequences. He authored a textbook on deep learning techniques for natural language processing, and was among the IEEE's AI Top 10 to Watch in 2018, and a recipient of the Krill Prize in Science in 2017. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Ben Gurion University, and spent time in Google Research as a post-doc.

Seong Joon Oh has been an independent group leader at the University of Tübingen leading the group on Scalable Trustworthy AI (STAI) since 2022. He is interested in training trustworthy models (e.g. explainable, robust, and probabilistic models) and obtaining the necessary human supervision and guidance in a cost-effective way. He has been a research scientist at Naver AI Lab (2018-2022). He did his PhD in computer vision and machine learning at MPI-INF with Bernt Schiele and Mario Fritz (2014-2018). He did his masters and bachelors studies in Maths at the University of Cambridge (2010-2014).

Saharon Rosset is a Professor in the Department of Statistics and Operations Research in Tel Aviv University. His research interests are in statistical machine learning, statistical genetics, and modern statistical methods.
He is a five time winner of major international data modeling competitions (KDD-Cup, INFORMS data mining challenge), with two best paper awards in KDD conferences. In 2018 his paper “From fixed-X to random-X regression: Bias-variance decompositions, covariance penalties, and prediction error estimation” with Ryan Tibshirani was selected for discussion by the Journal of the American Statistical Association.
 

RADM (NS) Joseph Leong is currently the Chairman of the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech) Board. He is also the Chairman of the Defence Science Organisation National Laboratories (DSO-NL), and sits on the Board of the Civil Service College. RADM (NS) Leong joined the Singapore Armed Forces in 1990 and served in the Republic of Singapore Navy for 24 years. He also held several senior positions before taking on his current appointments, including Fleet Commander, Director Military Intelligence and Chief C4I and Director, Security & Intelligence Division. He has also been Permanent Secretary for Defence Development at the Ministry of Defence and concurrently Second Permanent Secretary for Communications and Information. He was Chairman of Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), and his past board appointments include Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd and the Housing and Development Board (HDB).

Shie Mannor has been with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Technion since 2008 where he is a professor, the co-director of the Technion Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems Center, and the Edwards Chair in Engineering. Shie is also a distinguished scientist at Nvidia Research. Shie has published over 250 papers in leading venues and holds 10 patents. His papers were cited over 17,000 times and his h-index is 64. Shie’s research interests include machine learning and data science with an emphasis on reinforcement learning, planning and control, and analysis and control of large-scale systems. Shie has been active in the high-tech industry in Israel, Canada and the US where he has consulted to dozens of companies over the years and has co-founded four companies.

I am a senior lecturer (assistant professor) at the Blavatnik School of Computer Science in Tel-Aviv University. My research focuses on Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, and Computational Fabrication (3D printing). I use Machine Learning (of course...) and Geometry Processing to advance and connect these fields. Previously, I was a postdoctoral Researcher at the Princeton Graphics Group, hosted by Professor Szymon Rusinkiewicz and Professor Thomas Funkhouser. Before that, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Disney Research Zurich. I have conducted my Ph.D. studies at ETH Zurich under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Markus Gross, in collaboration with the computational materials group of Disney Research Zurich. My Masters and Bachelors degrees were obtained at The Technion - Israel Institute of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Craig Gotsman.

Gadi is an innovative and results oriented leader with 25 years of experience in 8200, the Israeli elite technology-cyber unit. He is an expert in leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis technologies to create scalable and cutting-edge data driven systems. Throughout his career, Gadi has delivered successful strategy, technology, product, and advanced process solutions. Reut Tsarfaty is a Professor at Bar-llan University leading the Open Natural Language Processing research lab (The ONLP Lab), and a visiting Professor at Google. Her research focuses on natural language parsing broadly interpreted to cover morphological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic phenomena, for typologically different languages. She is a leading figure in research on morphologically-rich languages, and she is internationally renowned for her groundbreaking work on Hebrew NLP. Applications Reut has worked on include (but are not limited to) natural language programming, natural language navigation, automated essay scoring, analysis and generation of social media content, and more. Reut's research has received grants and awards as an ERC-Starting-Grant #677352, an ISF grant #1739/26, a research grant from the Ministery of Science and Technology (MOST), and a Google Faculty Research Award.
